Rocky is an extremely handsome 12 year old Rottweiler X.
He has been managed at MHVC for back pain with several medications. While he was doing well, his owner was still struggling with helping him shed some of his excess weight.
Dr Jaime created a personalised nutrition plan for Rocky. By calculating the precise number of calories he required per day he was able to reach his target weight in a controlled amount of time.
He started on a prescription Metabolic diet from Hills Pet Nutrition, which he got used to quite quickly, despite being initially stubborn!
Rocky started off at 45kg and has now reached 38kg, which is a whopping 7kg of weight loss! This is a 15% loss – the equivalent of 13.5kg of weight loss in a 90kg person.
Not only does Rocky now have a fabulous waistline and summer body, but he is feeling more energetic too! He has less back pain and is requiring less pain medication.
