About Mt Helena
Mt Helena is in the metropolitan area yet close to beautiful state forests and to Lake Leschenaultia. It is central to the population distribution of the Shire of Mundaring and the largest high school East of Perth is just a few hundred metres up the road. Shops, post office and other services are all within walking distance. Many people from here commute to Perth to work daily, Midland is less than twenty minutes away. It is a great place for families to live or for anyone who enjoys the outdoors - bushwalking, mountain biking or horse riding.

Why work in our hospital?
The surgery is well equipped with x-ray (high frequency with floating top table and automatic developer), isoflurane anaesthetic machines (state of the art monitoring with new Surgivet Advisor - ECG, pulse oximeter, blood pressure, temp, CO2), ultrasound scanner, im3 delux dental equipment and lab with complete Idexx system (including Lasercyte for CBC with full white cell differentiation, VetTest for biochemistry and VetStat for electrolytes and blood gases). We have trained, registered nurses and very good clients. The practice is highly computerised. We encourage and support continuing veterinary education and networking with veterinarians around the world through the Veterinary Information Network.

The practice premises is an historic building. It is one hundred years old and was the site of the first Mundaring Shire council meetings. We have undertaken major rennovations in 2007 and several improvements are still underway. There is ample room for expansion and we are willing to consider your suggestions in our development plans.

All staff in the practice team are focussed on delivering a quality service to our clients and we treat all pets in our care with respect (our canine patients are eager to come in the door). If you are willing to respect others in the team then you will find our practice a very friendly and low stress environment in which to work.

However, no practice is perfect. We recognise that there are plenty of improvements to be made and we want your help to make them.
